F.A.Q

How do I work with you?

It starts with a consultation! Whether you're overwhelmed with a brand-new dog or just want to help to fix naughty habits that your dog has developed over the years, we'll talk through your goals, challenges, and lifestyle. From there, I'll recommend the best program—whether that's private lessons, day training, or board & train.

I work with clients in Stockton, CA and surrounding areas like Lodi, Manteca, and Rio Vista. You’ll always get a custom plan, ongoing support, and a whole lot of encouragement. You don’t have to figure this out alone

What should I expect from you?

You can expect clear communication, kind leadership, and expert-level guidance grounded in real-world experience. I’ve been training professionally since 2017, I’m CPDT-KA certified, and I specialize in using positive reinforcement to solve everyday dog struggles—from coming when called to reactivity.

I don’t just follow a script—I assess what’s really going on and give you tools that fit your dog and your life. I’ll help you understand your dog’s behavior, break it down into manageable steps, and give you a plan that actually works.

Whether we’re working in your home, your neighborhood, or your dog is staying with me, you’ll never feel lost. I’m here to help you make sense of it all—and move forward with confidence.

What areas do you service?

I provide in-home dog training in Stockton, CA and surrounding areas within 45 minutes, including Lodi, Rio Vista, and Manteca.

Not sure if you're in range? Just ask!

What age should I start training my newly adopted rescue?

You can begin training your rescue dog the moment they settle into your home—whether they’re 6 months or 6 years old. Early training helps your dog adjust, builds trust, and prevents unwanted behaviors. As a certified positive reinforcement dog trainer in Stockton, I specialize in helping newly adopted dogs build confidence and learn the ropes with gentle, effective guidance.

Is my adult dog too old for training?

Never! Adult dogs are more than capable of learning new skills, routines, and behaviors. In fact, many older dogs thrive with the mental stimulation and structure training provides. My programs are designed to meet your dog where they’re at, whether you're looking to sharpen manners or address behavioral challenges.

How do I know which training program is right for me??

It depends on your lifestyle and your dog’s needs. If you want hands-on support, private lessons are great. Day training helps when you’re short on time but want progress. Board & train is best if you want an immersive, structured jumpstart. I’m happy to help you decide during a consultation.

Do I need to be present for all training sessions?

For private lessons, yes—we’ll work together as a team to reach your goals. For day training or board & train programs, I do the heavy lifting for you, then teach you how to keep the momentum going at home. It’s ideal for busy dog parents who want expert help and fast progress.

How long does it take to see results from dog training?

Every dog is different, but with consistency and a customized plan, many clients see positive changes within the first few sessions. Whether you choose private lessons, day training, or board & train, I’ll help you set clear goals and realistic expectations so we can track progress together.

My dog listens at home but not in public. Can you help?

Absolutely. One of the most common struggles dog owners face is getting their dog to listen outside the house. I’ll teach you how to build reliability around distractions through structured public outings, personalized coaching, and real-world practice.

I’m busy—can you train my dog for me?

Yes! That’s exactly what Day Training and Board & Train are for. I’ll do the heavy lifting, then coach you along the way so you know what to do once your puppy comes home. Think of me as your training partner, not just your dog’s trainer.

Do you offer follow-up support after training sessions?

Yes, we believe in providing comprehensive support to ensure long-term success for you and your dog. After completing our training sessions, we offer follow-up support to assist with any questions or challenges you may encounter. Whether it's a phone call, email, or additional in-person sessions, we're here to help you and your canine companion maintain the progress achieved during training. Our goal is to ensure a harmonious and fulfilling relationship between you and your dog for years to come.

Contact us to learn more about our follow-up support options and how we can continue to support you on your training journey!

My dog already knows basic commands. Why would we need more training?

Great question! Training isn’t just about "sit" and "stay"—it’s about building better communication and navigating real-life situations. If your dog pulls on leash, jumps on guests, or struggles to focus around distractions, I can help fine-tune their skills with practical, real-world training that fits your lifestyle.

Can you help with leash reactivity or fear-based behavior?

Yes! I specialize in helping fearful and reactive dogs learn to feel safe and make better choices. Using force-free, science-backed methods, we’ll create a step-by-step plan to reduce stress and build more appropriate behaviors. You don’t have to go it alone—I’ll be right there guiding you and your dog every step of the way. Check out my Reactivity Page to learn about more about how I can help.
